As head coach of the St. Louis interscholastic polo team, Branscum is creating new opportunities for young athletes—many of whom are getting on a horse for the first time—to develop confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging.

With support from the Orthwein family and the USPA’s Polo Development Initiative, Branscum has helped lead major facility improvements and expand programming that makes the sport more inclusive and accessible. Her leadership has positioned St. Louis as a rising hub for youth polo, where players are gaining national recognition and competing at a high level.

Beyond the arena, Branscum is a full-time veterinarian, bringing her expertise and care to the broader community. Tricia Zimmer

Dr. Patricia Wolff’s journey to founding Meds & Food for Kids began with a deep commitment to improving pediatric health and addressing the challenges of childhood malnutrition. As a medical professional, her career took her across diverse roles, but it was during her time working with underserved populations that her path to global impact truly began. After earning her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Dr. Wolff worked with Native American communities through the Indian Health Service in South Dakota, where she gained firsthand experience in addressing health disparities. 

Her passion for global health was sparked during medical mission trips to Haiti in the early 1990s, where she encountered the devastating toll of childhood malnutrition. This experience led Dr. Wolff to focus her efforts on finding sustainable solutions to combat malnutrition, particularly in Haiti. In 2004, she founded Meds & Food for Kids, a nonprofit organization focused on providing ready-to-use therapeutic food to treat severe malnutrition. Since then, Meds & Food for Kids has saved the lives of over 185,000 children, educated more than 2,400 farmers, and created jobs for dozens of Haitians.

Through her work, Dr. Wolff has not only improved the health of children but also supported local economic development, empowering communities and farmers in Haiti. Meds & Food for Kids continues to grow, offering both life-saving nutrition and long-term solutions that foster sustainability and economic opportunity for the people it serves. Dr. Wolff’s dedication remains steadfast, as she works to expand the reach of her organization’s impact and build a future where childhood malnutrition is no longer a barrier to survival.
