Rae Yan

In just her first year at Briefcase Coach, Rae listened to 120+ hours of client interviews to create rich job materials for our clients. She excels at translating experiences that clients describe as “in the weeds” of their industry into compelling stories that capture broader audiences—this has been especially appreciated by those of our clients who have wished to move into new industries.

Clients Rae has worked with include thought leaders in communications, energy, global sales, healthcare, marketing, non-profit organizations, tech, transportation, and much more.

Prior to Briefcase Coach, Rae served as a literature professor at the University of Florida, where she was awarded multiple university teaching and research awards. At Briefcase Coach, she uses 10 years of research and professional mentoring experience to help clients quantify and contextualize their professional histories. Her expertise in web design and editing software helps her craft aesthetic as much as content-rich materials to represent clients’ career journeys.

Rae graduated with a PhD in British Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a focus in Victorian literature and literature and science studies. She is a proud alumna of Wellesley College, where she received a BA double-majoring in English and Chinese Literature and Language.
